Here’s how it started…

In 2018, we embarked on a journey when we moved to our picturesque 5-acre property nestled in the heart of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Close to downtown, yet with acres of woods to explore. Since then, we have developed our property to include forest paths, pastures, bee hives, chicken coops, a mini barn, a fully equipped workshop, and more.

Our property is now more than just ours; it's a sanctuary of warmth, connection, and memorable experiences. Operated by the Owner and Founder Erin Troast, Toasted Acres invites you to step into a world where Chipp (the mini Highland/White Park steer), Taylor and Barry (the Kune kune mini pigs), and a delightful array of poultry species await your company in the Crostini Corner. With plans to host a diverse calendar of events from yoga and Cuddle Sessions to 'Mimosas & Moos' gatherings, Toasted Acres aims to foster community connections and enrich lives.

Beyond the farm, Toasted Acres is eagerly developing a community of local artisan partnerships. Toasted Woodworks, owned and operated by Erin’s husband Sean Troast, is our exclusive woodworking artisan partner - offering handcrafted creations that reflect the rustic beauty of nature. Additional partnerships include with self-published author, Elizabeth Nelson, who offers a unique storybook with funny tales from her farm; while artisan Lisa Icenroad of IceIceBabyCo crochets animals to mirror Crostini Corner residents.

Erin continues to combine her passion for animals and her 15 years experience with youth through Toasted Acre’s Youth Enrichment Initiative, Steer to Success - providing unique emotional support animals to local disadvantaged youth. The proceeds from Toasted Acres events, which we don't reinvest in the farm, will be allocated to cover the operational costs of Steer to Success. Toasted Acres is where compassion, and community come together, creating moments that warm hearts and leave lasting smiles.
